• Public transport, "on top of": on
• Place in nature, countries, "inside": in
• Specific locations, house numbers, (names of) buildings: at

Adjectives & Adverbs

Adjectives

• Adjectives say someting about a noun

       Placed before the noun

                                         "The green dragon" / "the cute dog"

• Placed after verbs as: 

       to be, to seem, to appear, to look, to taste, to smell, to feel

Adverbs

• Adverbs say something about a verb

       Placed after the verb

                                       "she sings beautifully" / "he speaks honestly"

• Add "-ly" to an adjective make an adverb

Exceptions:

Adverbs of Frequency

always, often, never, sometimes, usually, etc.

Adverbs of Frequency

• Placed before the verb!

I often talk about grammar. / We never go to church on Monday.

BUT:

• placed after a form of "to be" (am / is / are / was / were)

She is usually at school at this time. / They are always messing around.
