Subject: Shrove Tuesday and School trip
Attachment: King’s day picture
Dear Ben,
It’s great to hear from you again! How are you? How was your schooltrip to Berlin? Did you have a lot of fun? I went on a schooltrip to the Ardennes in September last year. It was super fun. We did a lot of scary things. I had never heard of Shrove Tuesday. I’ve seen a video about Shroves Tuesday. I understand this holiday now. Do you celebrate Shrove Tuesday?
In the Netherlands we celebrate King’s Day. On this day all the Dutch are off from work to celebrate the king’s birthday. I put a picture of me on King’s day last year in the attachment. We dressed in orange clothing and went to the Pekingtuin Park in Baarn to see a concert.
We can celebrate King’s Day as well, when you’re here on holiday! We could go to the flea market in Utrecht for example. There are a lot of festivals as well, if you like.
I’m looking forward to your visit!
Best,
Lisa
