Goals for today

• At the end of class:
  
• You will have given your opinion on the given statements in English
  
• You will have practiced speaking English 
  

Statement game

• You get a statement such as ‘Everyone should be able to bring their pets to school’.
  
• You will either be for or against this statement
  
• Each team will have to come up with at least three arguments why they are for or against this statement. 
  
• You will have 4 minutes, after these 4 minutes you will try and convince the other team.

Homework should be banned

Phones should not be allowed in schools 

Statement 3

Online classes are better than physical classes

Statement 4

School uniforms should become mandatory (=verplicht)

Statement 5

It would be better to be able to fly than to be able to turn invisible.

Taboo

• Taboo is a game in which the goal is to paraphrase & win. 
  
•  Multiple teams (for example boys against girls or assigned groups) battle each other. 
  
• One person comes up to the board and gets a word that he or she cannot say, but he/she CAN describe the word. 
  
• If the team guesses – they score a point. 
  
• Whoever scores the most points wins !
  

Who am I? 

• Get into groups of 3 or 4.
  
•  You will get a slip of paper. Write down the name of a famous person/animal/cartoon figure. Alive or dead. And pass it on to your neighbour on the left. He or she has to stick it to his or her forehead.
  
• The gist is that you have to keep asking questions to find out who you are. 
  
• If the answer is yes you get to ask another question. 
  
• If the answer is no it’s the next person’s turn.
  
• Whoever guesses correctly first wins – but keep playing until everyone knows.
