Maple syrup

Maple syrup was first made by the indigenous peoples of North America. Over the years it has changed a lot, but the main ingredient stays the same: maple sap.

In Dutch, we call maple syrup ''ahornsiroop''. It is about the same as ''stroop'', but it's a bit thinner and less artificial.

Van oudsher waren de leden van de Royal Canadian Mounted Police altijd te paard onderweg. Mounted betekent namelijk 'bereden', zoals we in het Nederlands ook de bereden politie hebben. Dit zijn agenten die te paard werken.
