You use the past simple to talk about actions that happened in the past.
Regular verbs are formed by adding -ed to the verb. Verbs with a short vowel
+ a consonant get a double consonant before -ed. Verbs that have a -y at
the end get -ied if there is a consonant in front of the -y. If there is a vowel in
front of the -y it gets -ed after -y.
