PRESENT PERFECT / PAST SIMPLE
Past simple:

- It happened in the past
- You know when it happened
- It's finished

Present perfect:

- It happened in the past but you don't know when!!
- It is still going on
- It  has consequences/effect in the present, now
- Those are experiences

PAST SIMPLE
Keywords/Signal words:
when, ago, last,  a day/date, yesterday, In the year

regular verbs: ww + -ed  
For instance: walked, talked, looked, etc. 
irregular verbs: 2e rijtje onregelmatige werkwoorden 
E.g.: bought, flew, sang, put etc.

Usage: have/has + past participle  (+ -ed for regular verbs)
have/has + past participle = 3rd row irregular verbs (back of your book)
