Wanneer gebruik je will of shall?

Will betekent zullen . Shall betekent ook zullen maar komt minder vaak voor: het wordt in het formeel Engels soms gebruikt in plaats van will. 

Je gebruikt shall wel altijd wanneer je een voorstel in vraagvorm formuleert als het onderwerp I of we is.

Shall we go for a walk?                 Zullen we gaan wandelen?

Will he be on time?                         Zal hij op tijd komen?

• will: na wens, belofte, aanbod, aanname, voorspelling
• to be going to: je bent iets van plan
• als  het duidelijk is dat er iets gaat gebeuren
• Present Continuous: het is zeker dat er iets gaat gebeuren, de afspraak is gemaakt.
• Present Simple: vaststaande tijden: bus, trein, vliegtuig, rooster, programma
