"Treasure hunt for natural landscapes"
Goal
  • You will learn to independently look up and process information about four natural landscapes: tropical rainforest, savannah, steppe and desert.
What do you need?
  • Coursebook (C2) + Chromebook + GeoGuide (p54/55)
With whom?
  • Alone or together with your neighbour.

First:
  • Open a file in Google Docs
  • Name it: "C2: NATURAL LANDSCAPES"
  • Share the file with your neighbour

Tropical rainforest:
1. Tell something about the precipitation and temperature (climate).
2. Name 3 animals that live in the jungle.
3. Where on earth can you find the tropical rainforests?

Savannah:
1. Name the difference between the climate in the savannah and the tropical rainforest.
2. Name 5 animals that are typical for the savannah.
3. What type of plants and trees grow on the savannah?


Steppe:
1. What kind of plants and animals can you find in the steppe?
2. Why is there so little rain in a steppe?
3. Name a country where steppes occur.

Desert:
1. How do people and animals survive in deserts?
2. What is the difference between a warm and a cold desert?
3. Which famous desert is located in Africa?

In general:
1. Find a picture for each natural landscape.
2. Why do these landscapes not occur in the Netherlands?
3. What is the biggest difference in vegetation between these landscapes?
4. What is the biggest difference in precipitation between these landscapes?
