Read the story First Day on page 49 by yourself.
  • Does the story have a happy end?
  • Write down the words you don't know.
  • Do exercise 3: which sentences are missing where ?
(Attention: there is one extra sentence)
  • Who wants to read the text out loud
  • Do exercise 4: sentences are right/wrong/doesn't say.

Look at the word friends of exercise 5. What do they mean?

Signal words: every day/month/year, usually, always, often, never, etc.

Use when you are doing it RIGHT NOW.
Am/is/are + verb + ing
Signal words: right now, at the moment, currently, now etc.

(To walk)
I am walking now.
He is walking at this moment.
We are walking to the shop right now.

  • I walk / he walks
  • Use infinitive & SHIT-rule (she/he/it verb+s)
  • -   I don't walk.                                     He/She/It doesn't walk.

      Present continuous

  • You are doing it RIGHT NOW.
  • I am walking / he is walking
  • Use am/is/are + verb + ing
  • -  = I'm not working.        
  • You aren't working very hard
