History
Kenya was part of the British Empire  from 1895 until 1963.
Kenya is famous for its landscapes and wildlife. The British used the Kenyan ground for their tea plantations. Kenya is also well known for its fables and legends.. A long time ago people lived very close to nature and they made up stories for entertainment and tradition. One of these fables is about tthe zebra got its stripes.

The official languages of Kenya are Swahili and English.
 At schools children are educated in Swahili and English. These languages combine once in a while. For example in Swahili they use a lot of English words. Besides the official languages there are also a lot of local languages like Kikuyu, Luo, Kikamba, Maasai en Samburu.

Kenya has 70 different tribes. Kenya is a culturally and ethnically diverse country. It is also a big tourist attraction. The large set of cultures and traditions makes Kenya unique .

There are 54 national parks in Kenya. About 10% of the Kenya’s land mass is protected area for wildlife conservation. Maasai Mara National Park is the most visited national park of Kenya.

In Kenya people drive at the left side of the road. This is a leftover from the English occupation. You can drive with your European drivers-licence in Kenya. The main roads are in fairly good condition but the minor roads are overal poorly maintained.

Kenya has a lot of famous athletes. Lornah Kiplagat is one of the most famous female athletes. The reason why Kenyans are good runners is probably because of the fact that they run several miles to and from school every day. Also their physique could be a very important part of their running skills.

The big five of Kenya are the five animals which the early big game hunters considered as most difficult and dangerous animals to hunt on foot. The big five are the Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, and Cape-Buffalo. They are the largest tourist attraction in the reservations.

The first two ways:
1. Use a present simple when : Things run according to a fixed schedule
The train leaves at 10.45.

2. Use a present continuous when : things are planned and almost certain to happen
I'm visiting my grandmother tomorrow.

b. there is : a spontaneous offer, promise, proposal or request. : Shall I tell you that story?
c. there are facts or general truths: An angry buffalo will attack quite suddenly.

That's a terribly fast car.
Fast zegt iets van car = bijvnw, terribly zegt iets van fast = bijw!
