vagina :entrance in the woman's body where semen is released during sexual intercourse
clitoris: area of skin at the front of the vagina that is sensitive to stimuli 
outer labia: folds of skin around the inner labia
inner labia: these folds of skin around the vagina have glands that produce mucus to lubricate the entrance to the vagina

The menstrual cycle
  • After the menstruation the uterus linings starts to grow thicker again and have more blood vessels.
  •  Ovulation start +- around 14 days after the start of the last menstruation.
  • Next menstruation starts about 28 days after the start of the last one.

4 Phases
  • Phase 1 (day 1-5) : menstruation
  • Uterus lining is shed through the vagina (no fertilized egg)

  • Phase 2 (day 6-12): repair phase
  • uterus lining build new layer of mucus
  • new egg cell develops in the ovary

  • A new ova is released and send down the oviduct

  • Phase 4: Receptive phase (day 16 - 28)
  • Uterus lining grows to form a 'nest' for the egg cell
