Present simple

• Als iets altijd/nooit/regelmatig gebeurt: I usually go to my friend's house.
  
• Als het een feit is (tijd speelt geen rol): The sun rises in the east.
  
• Bij ww die een zintuiglijke waarneming aangeven: see/hear/taste/sound/smell: The soup tastes good.
  
• Bij ww die een geestelijke staat aangeven: know/understand/believe/realise/doubt etc: I know that she will be there.
  
• Bij ww die een voorkeur aangeven: like/love/prefer/hate:
  We like that music.

Present continuous

• Iets is nu bezig of aan de gang:
  We're doing grammar at the moment.
• Er is sprake van een tijdelijk situatie:
  I'm staying with my aunt this week.
• Er is sprake van ergernis (icm always/constantly):
  They're constantly complaining about it.

Vorm:

am/are/is + ww + ing: I am watching TV.

vragend: am/are/is vooraan:
Are you doing your homework?

ontkennend: am not/ aren't isn't:
We aren't listening to music.

I often ... TV before bed.

Possessives

Bij personen:

enkelvoud: 's - the boy's bike

meervoud: ' - the boys' bike

Bij namen: 's  - James's girlfriend

Bij tijd:

meervoud: ' - A tree hours' drive.

Plaats (je noemt de naam van het gebouw niet): 's

Als er een zelfstandig naamwoord achter each staat dan is dat woord in het enkelvoud

Conjunctions - Voegwoorden

Als je delen van zinnen met elkaar wil verbinden dan gebruik je voegwoorden.

Ze drukken ook een bepaalde relatie tussen die delen van zinnen uit, bijvoorbeeld een gevolg of een tegenstelling.
