Why the future tense?

Some examples:

You meet a cute girl/guy on holiday and you want to make plans.

You want to host a party next weekend.

You need to make a doctors' appointment abroad.

De future tense zijn drie 'tijden' in een lange jas die doen alsof ze één tijd zijn. 

Situaties om de 'future tense' te gebruiken:

1. Afspraken die gemaakt zijn en nog moeten gebeuren.

(present continuous)

to be + werkwoord + ing

Situaties om de 'future tense' te gebruiken:

2. Bij tijdschema's roosters en dienstregelingen.

(present simple)

(Als je een keus maakt in het moment of een voorspelling doet zonder bewijs)

to be going to + hele ww

(Als je een voorspelling maakt met bewijs of iemand iets van plan is / een beslissing maakt en dat al vaststaat / eerder is afgesproken.)

10 Questions:

Think of 10 questions to ask about someone's future plans.

You can take 10 minutes or so to do this.

Write them down on a piece of paper or in MS word.

Partner up

Partner up with one or two pupils next to you.

Take turns asking and answering the questions about your future plans. Don't have plans? Use the negative form.

Take 10 - 15 minutes to do this.
