Pronoun:

We use 'one' or 'ones' when we refer to a noun that has already been mentioned.

One - singular (enkelvoud)

Ones - plural (meervoud) 

A used car is much cheaper than a new one.  (enkelvoud)

Do you prefer the black shoes or the red ones. (meervoud)

One / Ones

You can replace a noun with 'one' or 'ones' after:

an adjective - There are big problems and small ones

which - I like that book, which one do you like?

this, that, these, and those -

There are a lot of great movies, but I like that one 

I’ll have a piece of cake. Would you like to have ... too?
