Future tense
In the future, we won't live in small towns, instead, I think we will live in big cities. I hope I'll work in a big bank and I'm sure my friends won't live in the same town as me. We will all live to be 120 years old, but I'm certain I won't make it to that age. because I like McDonalds too much.

Write down all verbs about the future. Recurring word in these?

Slide 3 - Slide

until 13:17
By yourself, read this little story about the future. Write down all the verbs that it uses to talk about the future. Which word or words come back a lot? I'll give you about 4 minutes for this. Do it in silence. You may not discuss or work together at this point. After 4 minutes I'll underline (or write down if board doesn't work.) the verbs that they found. Which word comes back a lot?

Students raise their hand to answer my questions, the rest of the students are quiet and check if they had the same.

What do the bold words mean? Why were they used?

Slide 4 - Slide

until 13:20
Look at the words in bold. What do they mean? What could be a reason for using these in these sentences?

Students raise their hand to answer.
Summary:
*Use will (or 'll) to talk about things which we think are certain to happen in the future.
*We often use expressions like I think, I hope, I'm sure or I'm certain.

How to *make it: Person + will/'ll + infinitive (normal verb) + rest.
*Negative of will is won't (means: will not)

Slide 5 - Slide

until 13:24
4 min to write down the sentences with * in front of it. We'll already have discussed this in the previous slides. Except how to make it.

Students write along.
Complete the predictions with will or won't
Example:  We/live/to be 120 years old
= We will/We'll live to be 120 years old.

1. My friends / move away
2. I / have / a big house.
3. We / not buy / things in shops.

Next: explain to your neighbour, using only your notes, when you use may/might and how you make a sentence using them. Also give them an example.

Slide 7 - Slide
