Een hulpwerkwoord = een werkwoord dat niet zelfstandig, maar slechts in combinatie met een ander werkwoord kan voorkomen
Een Nederlands voorbeeld: Jan heeft zijn band geplakt.

These auxiliaries are used to talk about obligation (verplichting), things that are necessary to do, or to give advice about things that are a good idea to do.
Must and have to = obligation
Should = advice
