1. Lees de titel, bekijk het plaatje, check de bron en schrijver. Bedenk wat je al weet over dit onderwerp. 
2. Lees de vraag en beslis of de tekst kort genoeg is om helemaal te lezen of dat je slechts een (paar) alinea's moet lezen.

3. Bij meerkeuze antwoorden zorg dat je de werkwoorden onderstreept en echt goed begrijpt. Wegstrepen van antwoorden. 
4. Let op linking words in alinea's of in antwoorden. Zorg dat je die onderstreept en bekijkt wat hun betekenis is/ tot welke categorie ze behoren.

4. Bij open en citeervragen wordt er iets meer van je gevraagd. Vooral als de vraag een citaat bevat, zorg dat je dat stukje tekst helemaal begrijpt. (question 10 in text 4)
Open vragen beantwoorden in het Nederlands: Engels = 0 punten. Niet letterlijk vertalen maar schrijf het in je eigen woorden op, liever dat je te veel dan te weinig opschrijft en wees specifiek dus gebruik geen vage termen.
