News
You are going to make a news broadcast.
You can choose whether you want to make a radio broadcast  (only record your voice) or a TV broadcast ( film yourself ).

Groups
- When you want to do this assignment on your own, you have to cover the weatherforecast

- When you want to pair up, you will need to cover 2 items.

- If you want to work in a group of 3, you will need to cover 3 items.

- The maximum group size is four people. Cover 4 items or let 1 person be the presentor.

You can find help with completing a speaking assignment from the handout of your teacher. There you will receive an explanation of the following points:

4 Examples of different news items:
- Serious news item (go to the slide 'accident') 
- Funny / crazy item 
(it doesn't have to be realistic, it can be fake news)
- Showbiz item
- The weather

Chapter 6, year 1 weather forecast > give us the weather forecast of this week (past, present and future)

you will receive a hand-out with useful phrases and other extras

read interesting dialogues on page 247 and use the yellow pages to find the right words/phrases.

Chapter 4/5 : showbiz news > inform your audience and give your (expert) opinion on latest celebrity news/track/film or series.

Use page 141 to get an idea of how the dialogue works and page 294 to create the right questions to ask. You can use the yellow pages for the right vocabulary.

- Watch the news (BBC, BBC newsround, etc...) and write down useful phrases.
