In pairs of two, come up with three examples of a positive initiative that you can take action on in your local community.

Practical info
  •  You will learn come up with, set up and take action on your own local project in groups of four.
  • For this you will have to do research in our own local community, among other things through a questionnaire.
  • You will get training about your personal strength, networking and organisation by a company called change makers.
  • There will be a change makers day where you will enact the project.
  • We will conclude the project with a presentation evening for your parents.

In your note book, make a mind map of all the communities your connected to.
Think of things like:
  • school
  • sports
  • family
  • different associations
  • friends
  • online communities

Worksheet
  • Fill in the worksheet as a group.
  • For each topic search the local news to see what is happening currently on that topic.
  • Choose two topics, start researching and brainstorming solutions to these problems on a global and on a local scale.
  • Come up with ways in which people in your local community could contribute to these solutions.
