What are we going to learn to day?
Today we will be learning:
What the nervous system consists of.
How the nervous system generally works.

Slide 2 - Slide

Nervous system
The nervous system, just like your endocrine system makes sure communication within your body takes place.
It has 2 parts: the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.

Slide 3 - Slide

Receptor --> effector

Slide 4 - Slide

Neurones
While the cell body are always in or around the CNS (central nervous system), the ''legs'' (axons) of neurones can get very long.

Slide 5 - Slide

Impulse frequency

Slide 6 - Slide

Neurones
Neurones pass a impulse over to another neuron through a synapse, where a certain chemical (neurotransmitter) flows through.

Reflexes
Sometimes your body needs to react very fast, or it does something autonomously. It does so through reflexes.
During reflexes, the brain doesn't make a new impuls. But the impuls gets to the spinal cord, and them immediately goes to the effector.
