  • Use capital letters
  • Never use a first name.
  • Do not write ‘Mister/Missus’
  • Always end with a comma

Eg. your title at work, contact details (phone/email/address).

Step 1: Understand the topic
Read the topic carefully.

Think about what you need to write. (A person? A place? A daily routine?)

🔹 Example Topic: Write about your favorite hobby.

Step 2: Plan your ideas
Use a mind map or a short list.
🔹Example Ideas for "My favorite hobby"
  1. My hobby is football.
  2. I play with my friends every weekend.
  3. I like it because it is fun and good exercise.
  4. My favorite football player is [name].

Step 3: Write the composition
Use three parts:

1. Introduction (First Sentence) → Say what your topic is
"My favorite hobby is football."

2. Body (2-3 Sentences) → Give more details
"I play every weekend with my friends in the park. It is fun, and I like to run and score goals. Football is also good for my health."
3. Conclusion (Last Sentence) → End your composition
"I love football because it makes me happy!"

Step 1: Understand the Essay Question
Read the prompt carefully.
Identify key words (e.g., discuss, evaluate, compare, argue).


Opinion Essay → Express your viewpoint.

For and Against Essay → Discuss both sides.

Problem-Solution Essay → Explain an issue and suggest solutions.
