What are your celebrations and traditions? Are they a representation of your country's traditions and culture? In this unit you will explore celebrations and traditions throughout the Spanish-speaking world and dive into the cultural contexts in which they are found. You will then reflect on your own celebrations and traditions, identifying and questioning the cultural context they are in. This unit will help you not only to inter-culturally communicate but also communicate for different purposes and audiences.

Assessment tasks
Criterion A: 
You will watch two or three short videos about Hispanic celebrations and traditions and answer the questions in Spanish.
Criterion C: 
You will be given a picture of one of the Hispanic celebrations and traditions that we've studied which you will describe in Spanish, and then answer some questions from your teacher about your own celebrations and traditions. 
Criterion D: 
You will be given a scenario in which you need to select the approproiate text type and write a text of 100 - 150 words using the correct register for the context set (this depends on the target audience and purpose of course!)
