(to) be going to --> I am going to visit Spain this summer.

Will + hele ww --> I will take the train to the airport.

Present Simple --> The plane leaves at half past seven.

1. Toekomstige plannen.
e.g. Next summer I am going to spend a week in Brazil.
2. Een beslissing die je al eerder hebt gemaakt.
e.g. Julie: There's no milk. John: I know. I'm going to get some when this TV programme finishes.
3. Een voorspelling gebaseerd op bewijs.
The Conservatives are going to win the election. They already have most of the votes.

1. Een beslissing die je op dat moment maakt.
e.g. Julie: There's no milk. John: Really? In that case, I'll go and get some.
2. Een voorspelling ZONDER bewijs (gebaseerd op mening).
e.g. I think the Conservatives will win the next election.
3. Belofte, verzoek, aanbieden
e.g. Will you help me tomorrow? Yes, I promise I will help you.
4. Een toekomstig feit.
e.g. The sun will rise tomorrow.

Je gebruikt shall in plaats van will bij:
Vraagzinnen met I of We als onderwerp en om een voorstel te maken.
