Writing Task

You have received 150 euros from your grandparents to go shopping for the summer holidays. That’s cool! Write an email to your grandparents and name and describe the items you would like to buy with the money.

Make sure the following points are included in your email:
• Start your email with a greeting and thank your grandparents for the gift.
• Tell them which items you would like to buy with the money.
• Describe these items. Think about using: color, material, short/long sleeves, etc.

Wanneer je in het Engels iets wilt hebben of een vraag wilt stellen in een winkel gebruik je would like om beleefd te zijn. Would like betekent zou graag (willen).

Na would like zijn er twee mogelijkheden:

  • would like + to + werkwoord
I would like to buy this. - Ik zou graag dit (willen) kopen.
  • would like + zelfstandig naamwoord
We would like a refund please. - Wij zouden graag ons geld terug (willen) hebben.
