Mondeling

• Uitleg opdrachten + tweetal maken.
• Tijd om te oefenen, voor te bereiden en
    vragen te stellen.
  
  
• Inplannen doe ik volgende week, drie groepen per keer tijdens het VTO uur. 

De opdrachten

1. Introduce yourself
   -  3 minutes to introduce yourself and tell us about your life and answer questions.
   
2. Tell us about a picture of choice.
   - 3 minutes to tell us about the picture you brought yourself. 
3. Conversation in a restaurant (with your own menu!)
   - Opdracht volgt tijdens de mondeling zelf.

To do

• Maak een tweetal en geef deze aan mij door. 
• Schrijf op papier: je eigen introductie en oefen deze samen.  
• Zoek een foto/plaatje waar jij drie minuten lang over kunt praten en vragen over kan beantwoorden. Laat hem aan mij zien om goed te laten keuren.
• Deze hele les om voor te bereiden, daarna alleen nog als er tijd over is. Ik loop rond om te helpen, succes!

• At the end of class I can discuss statements and talk about pictures. 

Assignments

• First: Describe the picture in one minute. 
• Second: Discuss the statement in one minute.
  
  
• Both will be discussed in your pair/group first. After one minute I would like someone to tell us their answer. 
  
• Have fun and speak English!

Describing a picture

• What is/was happening? What happened before or after the picture is/was taken? 
• What are the consequences (gevolgen) of what happened?
• Describe what you see in detail (color, shapes, length etc.)
• Describe a word if you don't know the English meaning. For example: Wool = A sheep's coat, where we make sweaters from.

General tips for speaking

• Use fillers if you are thinking, instead of "uhmm": Let me think about it... I am not sure, let me think.... 
• If you don't understand a question, ask: "Could you repeat that please?" "I don't understand that word."
• Describe words you don't know, like I explained in the previous slide. 
• It's okay to be silent for a minute and think! Speak slowly.

Discussion Statements

Discuss for one minute in English! Give your opinion.

School should start earlier and end earlier.

Joining a sports club should be mandatory (verplicht)

Food in the school cafeteria should be only healthy food

All teachers should be able to teach more than one subject

Museums and  (movie)theaters should be free for children younger than 16

Every child should do chores around the house and cook at least once a week

School trips should be done more often

Tests should be banned from school

• Finish of your introduction and practise for the time that is left.
