Past Simple: bevestigend

•  Verleden tijd: PAST simple
•  Iets wat al is gebeurd en voorbij is:

      "I walked to school this morning."

      "We looked at each other."

•  Heeft soms ook een tijdsbepaling, zoals: this morning, yesterday, last week...

Irregular verbs (onregelmatige werkwoorden) stay the same in the Past Simple

Wanneer gebruik je Past Continuous?

• Je gebruikt de Past Continuous om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden een tijdje duurde of een tijdje aan de gang was. 

• Het verschil met de Past Simple =
•  Past Simple gaat om een moment, terwijl de Past Continuous gaat over een langere gebeurtenis.  De acties onderbreken elkaar!

Hoe gebruik je het?

• was / were + werkwoord+ing

1. was hoort bij enkelvoud (I, he, she, it)
2. were hoort bij meervoud en bij you (you, we, you, they)

• I was walking
• You were walking
