  • Both: Beide - Wanneer je het over twee dingen hebt.
  • Example: I like both books.
  • Either: Een van beide - wanneer je een van de twee bedoelt.
  • Example: I don't care what movie we are going to watch. Either is fine!
  • Neither: Geen van beide 
  • Example: I don't like horror. I don't want to watch neither of them.

Adjectives (bijvoeglijke naamworden): 
  • zeggen iets over het zelfstandig naamwoord. 
  • Example: He (zn) is fast (bn).
  • They are beautiful.
  • She is tall.
  • That car is red.

Adverbs (bijwoorden):
  • Zeggen iets over het werkwoord (verb), bijvoegelijke naamwoorden (adjectives) of andere bijwoorden.
  • Example: He runs fast.
  • She sings beautifully.
  • They are really tall.
  • She sings very beautifully.

Comparisons
Eén lettergreep:
  • -er en -est: Quicker, quickest, faster, fastest
Twee lettergrepen of drie lettergrepen:
  • More/most + woord: More famous, More intelligent, Most careful
Twee lettergrepen met -le, -er, -ow of -y
  • -er en -est: easiest, simpler, cleverer, cleverest, shallower

Comparisons
Je gebruikt "like" als je:
  • Het over uiterlijk of gedrag hebt.
  • You look like your sister.
  • They were acting like animals.
Je gebruikt "as" als je:
  • Het over de baan van iemand of de functie van iets hebt.
  • She works as a teacher.
  • He used his phone as a flashlight.

  • Iets is gebeurd in het verleden, voordat iets anders gebeurde.
  • Had + werkwoord + -ed
  • Example: After she had cycled, she ate dinner.
  • Before he checked his homework, his teacher had noticed the mistake.
  • Before they knew it, they had aced the test.
  • Before she sang, she had warmed up her voice.

  • Link met het heden
  • Iets is begonnen in het verleden en is nog steeds gaande
  • Have/has + been + werkwoord + ing
  • Example: I have been waiting for hours.
  • She has been working at her new job.
  • They have been singing the entire day.
  • He has been running for hours.
