Wanneer het onduidelijk is wanneer (of het is niet belangrijk)
I have lost my keys. 
(als je wist wanneer had je een idee waar je moest zoeken)
Deze kan dan niet.
Als je zegt I have been losing my keys dan ben je ze kwijt, vind ze weer en ben je ze weer kwijt etc.
