To show that somebody owns something:

Comparatives and Superlatives
A tennis ball is small.
A baseball is smaller than a tennis ball.
A golf ball is the smallest of them all.
Where there is a short vowel + a consonant, you double the consonant at the end.

big - > bigger -> biggest      fit-> fitter -> fittest
If the adjective ends in -e, you only add -r or -st.

nice -> nicer-> nicest            wise-> wiser->wisest
If the adjective ends in -y, you replace the last letter with -ier and -iest

happy->happier -> happiest       crazy -> crazier-> craziest

Some words have their own irregular form: 
good -> better -> best
bad -> worse -> worst
For adjectives with three syllables or more (beau-ti-ful/won-der-ful) you use more and most.

Some adjectives with two syllables (like famous, boring, and words that end in -ful)
