The beginning of the story
Unit 1 | London Adventures
Today is the big day. It is moving day. Mr. and Mrs. Morton and three very large men are packing a moving van. Wyatt sits outside on the front step. He is wearing a Chicago Cubs hat, a t-shirt and jeans and is holding his favorite baseball and glove. He looks really sad. He looks at his parents and at the moving van. ‘What can I do?’ he thinks. ‘I hate leaving my friends…again. But this time it is worse, we are moving to a different country!’ He shrugs his shoulders and sighs. ‘It’s not fair that my sisterJordyn gets to stay behind for a bit..’ Wyatt's sister, Karen, comes racing out of the house. She is listening to music and dancing. She is happy and excited. At 18 years old, the move to London is going to be a big adventure. The doors of the van slam shut. The three men get into the front of the van and drive away. Mr. and Mrs. Morton wave as the truck drives off into the distance.

The car drives down the street, into the city and to the airport. Wyatt looks sadly out the window.
