What are tenses?

We form verbs in tenses to tell us about the time of the action/s.

Please watch  the following video and write notes in your notebook or on your SS notes pages.

summary

present simple We eat lunch at noon everyday. (or She/he eat s )	past simple Yesterday they ate l unch. (regular verbs add -ed)
present continuous We are eating some bread right now . (S/he/it is eating )	past continuous We were eating ice-cream but it melted . (I was eating... )
present perfect I have eaten too many sandwiches a nd now I feel sick. (S/he/it has eaten )	past perfect They had already eaten all the sandwiches by then .
future simple I will not (won't) eat sandwiches tomorrow.
We eat dinner at 8 pm this evening.
We are (we're) eating dinner with friends later. We are going to eat dinner later.
future continuous We will be eating dinner at this time tomorrow.	future perfect We will have eaten all the chocolates by this evening .
