Japanese fought fiercely → Kamikaze pilots crashed into U.S. ships

Truman wanted to end the war quickly --> Atomic Bombs

Aug 6, 1945: Hiroshima bombed

Aug 9, 1945: Nagasaki bombed

Aug 15, 1945: Japan surrendered, ending WWII.
