WH-questions past simple

Exercise 1: discuss in pairs 

About which moment in time are these questions asking something? How do you know this?

What kind of words can be fond at the start of each sentence?

How many of these words do you know? Write them down.

What word is always second in the sentences?

Make two questions using the WH-questions in the past simple

Now write here what questions your groupmate has made.

Compare (vergelijk) your questions. Are they all correct? Could you give each other some tips?

Exercise 2: discuss in pairs 

What words go missing in the second sentence?

3. Lijdend en/of meewerkend voorwerp

Which word is added (toegevoegd) in the second sentences, replacing the missing one?

How many verbs (werkwoorden) does each sentence have?

What is the difference between those verbs? What does this mean when you make a question with two verbs in the sentence?

Exercise 3

Watch the video. 

Make at least 4 questions you could ask the people from the video. 
Write down who made what question.

Exercise 4: Speaking

Step 1: Make at least (minstens)5 questions you are going to ask your classmate about his/her holiday. 

Step 2: Have a conversation. Ask each other your questions and answer them correctly. 

Step 3: Switch roles.
