This lesson...:

Let's get back into the swing of things, which means we're going to start a new unit (6), but first we'll wrap up Unit 5, and I'd also like to talk about how your reading is going for a bit.

First I'm going to ask a question. You only need to answer if you've already started reading your book.

Slide 2 - Slide

Are you happy with the book you've chosen?

Slide 3 - Mind map

Describe your book in a few words

Slide 4 - Mind map

Do you need to look up a lot of words when you're reading?

About your homework for today:
That was 5.5: exercises 49-52.

Does anyone have questions about the grammar exercises (can/could/must/have to/should etc.)?

These modal verbs are always tricky, and in a lot of cases more than one answer is correct.

By the way, your short stories:
I really liked the stories you wrote last lesson, particularly the occurence of romantic dates with mosquitoes, trips in boats made out of cardboard, a lottery where you could win a girlfriend (?!!), a dairy cow on a plane to New York, mosquitoes that can do math and homework, etc. etc. etc :-)
