Past simple negations (ontkenningen)

Twee manieren om een ontkenning te maken in de verleden tijd:

1. Was/were en could/would + n't/not
2. Bij alle andere komt er didn't voor het hoofdwerkwoord

Was/were/could/would + n't/not

It wasn't sunny yesterday.

My sisters weren't at home.

I couldn't go to the cinema.

My dog wouldn't come inside. 

Past simple

It was sunny yesterday

My sister were at home

I could go to the cinema

My dog would come inside. 

Didn't/did not

We didn't bring any food.

She didn't buy me a snack.

My friends didn't laugh at that joke.

Our cat didn't like the new toy.

Past simple

We brought some food.

She bought me a snack.

My friends laughed at that joke.

Our cat liked the new toy.
