Past simple

Lesson aim: Aan het einde van de les weet je wat de past simple is en hoe je een werkwoord moet vervoegen zodat deze in de past simple tense staat.

Past simple

Wat is de past simple?

Je gebruikt de past simple als iets in het verleden gebeurd

De vorm: Stam + ed (Stam is het werkwoord zonder to)

Voorbeeld: I (to play) in the park yesterday

I played in the park yesterday

Bij alle vervoegingen is dit hetzelfde. We played, I played, he/she/it played etc.

Signaalwoorden: yesterday, last night/week/ year, three years ago, this morning, in 2005

Let op: dit geldt alleen voor regelmatige werkwoorden. Onregelmatige werkwoorden hebben hun eigen vorm (veranderen van stam). Bijv: buy - bought, do - did

Uitzonderingen

werkwoorden eindigen op a/e	enkel –d toevoegen	I loved ...
Stam eindigt normaal op –y	de y weglaten en –ied toevoegen	I hurried ...
Werkwoord met twee lettergrepen waar de klemtoon op de laatste lettergreep valt.	De laatste letter verdubbelt.	I admitted ...

In ontkennende zinnen:

didn't + hele werkwoord

In vragen:

Did + hele werkwoord

Let op: geen -ed achter het werkwoord in ontkennende zinnen/vragen
