Some, any, a lot of/lots of:

Some - Bij bevestigende zinnen óf vragen waar we verwachten dat het antwoord ja is.

Vb: I bought some new socks. - Can I please have some butter?

Any - Bij ontkennende zinnen óf vragen waarbij het antwoord niet (vrijwel) zeker is.

Vb: There aren't any cookies left. - Do you have any milk?

A lot of/lots of - Kun je in alle overige zinnen gebruiken om aan te geven dat er veel van iets is.

Vb: There are lots of cows in India. - Matt Stonie can eat a lot of food!

Some, any, a lot of worden altijd gevolgd door een meervoudsvorm. Let op: Sommige woorden hebben een uitzondering als meervoudsvorm. --> One moose, two moose

Should, must, have to

Should - Als iemand een mening geeft

Vb: (+) You should do your home work. - (-) You shouldn't drink and drive.

Must - Als iets (wettelijk) verplicht is

Vb: (+) You must wear a seat belt at all times! - (-) You mustn't go to the forbidden library Harry!

Have to - Alle andere gevallen

Vb: (+) If you have COVID you have to stay home.

(+) You have to brush your teeth if you want to avoid cavities.

Als er een werkwoord na should/must of have to komt is het altijd de infinitief (het hele werkwoord.) 

Adverbs

Adverbs zeggen iets over een werkwoord. Ze geven aan hoe, wat of wanneer. 

De meeste adverbs eindigen op -y.

Voorbeelden:

Poor - Poorly,

Strong - Strongly,
