Make one sentence using BOTH the past simple AND the past continuous!

How do we make the past simple?

Pronoun (I, you, he, she, ...etc.)

Examples:

I played the piano.

I made a pancake. 

When do we use the past simple?

Something happened in the past and ended  in the past.

How do we make the past continuous?

I, you, he ,she, ...etc.

was or were

+

verb + ing

Example: 

I was watching Doctor Strange. 

When do we use the past continuous?

Something happened in the past and it took some time.

Both can be used in one sentence....

past continuous tells you that an action took place for a while, then it was interrupted by something else (past simple).

Examples:

- She was reading a book when her parents  entered the house.

- I shouted  at them while they were playing games.
