Something that we use to find out information about the world around us so that we can survive. Our five senses are sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch.

We use our eyes to get information about the world through the sense of seeing (sight).
We can enjoy a colorful sunset, autumn leaves, and the beauty of a rainbow with our sense of sight.

Grab a pencil, a booklet, and some crayons! On each page of the booklet, you will write the name of a sense and then draw a small picture of the body part used for that sense. You will then draw another picture of something that you can use that sense to explore. Have fun and be creative! When you're done, show and explain your pictures to a classmate.

Extra Activity
Each student will take a pencil and a notebook out to the playground. They will go on a scavenger hunt to find objects they can smell, see, hear, touch, and taste. When they locate objects, they will draw the object in their notebook. Afterward, students will come back to the classroom and describe what they drew and what senses they used.
