Who am I and who are you?
Mrs Burger (burm)
mburger@hetccc.nl
Classroom 226

For the first couple months, you will sit in the same place every lesson. It makes it easier for me to remember your names instead of saying: "You with the red shirt." Nobody wants that.

All the lessons will be made and shared in the online
tool Lesson Up.
Download the LessonUp App (or use the website) and join your class by using your class code. Write the class code in your notebook or calender or phone. Don't lose it!

Exemptions?
In VWO 5 there are no exemptions for those who do this year second time round. Everything needs to be done again.

Slide 7 - Diapositive

In class
  • always (try to) speak English
  • always bring your Objective Proficiency book
  • always bring your notebook and a blue and red pen
  • always bring your laptop/Ipad and earphones
  • always do your weekly assignment
  • always ask questions if you have them. There are no stupid questions and I'm here to help you become better at English

Slide 8 - Diapositive

Take responsibility
I want you to take responsibility for your own learning process.
  • Come and talk to me if you have any trouble with English.
  • You can only use you laptop / Ipad when I tell you to. Until then it remains closed (on your desk or in your bag).
  • To avoid distractions during class you keep your phone in your bag without me having to tell you this all the time.

Slide 9 - Diapositive

Objective Proficiency
  • You can find important information in Magister and on Lesson Up. Each lesson will be shared with you.
  • You have a study planner and week schedule
  • The exercises might seem odd at first, so ask questions when you have them.
  • Write the exercises in your notebook and correct them with a red pen. Make notes when I am explaining grammar.

No need to worry
We will practise a lot!
Afraid you missed too much due to Corona?
Everything that is important will be repeated this year!
Need some help with your homework? Check if I am online in Teams for help or send me an email.

End of class
  • At the end of class you will note down what you still need to do for this week (see weekly tasks) and any deadlines you've been given.
  • Ask any final questions you have. Don't leave anything for later!
  • Pack your bags and take all trash with you. You are mature enough to pick up after yourselves.
