Past Simple

• als iets duidelijk in het verleden gebeurde, een afgesloten handeling in het verleden

• vorm (+): ww + ed of tweede rijtje onregelmatige ww
• ontkennend (-): did + not + hele ww
• vragend (?): did + ond + hele ww

Past Continuous

• als iets in het verleden aan de gang was, bezig was; wordt ook gebruikt als twee dingen gebeurd zijn: het ene kort (past simple), het andere lang (past continuous)

• vorm (+): was/were + ww + ing
• ontkennend (-): was/were + not + ww + ing
• vragend (?): was/were + ond + ww + ing
