Definite clause

Indefinite clause

I like the woman who lives next door.

My brother who lives in Bangalor is a doctor. = Ik heb meer dan 1 broer

De extra informatie is niet essentieel. De relative clause staat tussen kommas.

My brother, who lives in Bangalor, is a doctor.

Defining relative clauses
Defining relative clauses geven essentiële informatie over personen of dingen waar we over praten

Belangrijk:

In 1936, when Naismith was 75 years old, basketball officially became part of the Olympic Games.
