Prepositions of time (= voorzetsels van tijd)

Voorzetsels van tijd: 

AT: als je het hebt over specifieke tijdstippen:

--> We will arrive at noon / 3 o'clock / lunchtime.

ON:  als je het hebt over dagen en data:

--> We will arrive on Sunday / your birthday / 10 april 1989

IN: als je het hebt over langere periodes of als je het woord 'over' bedoeld:

--> We will arrive in August / in spring / in the evening / in 10 minutes.

REGELS MET BETREKKING TOT PLAATSEN

AT: als je het hebt over dat iemand of iets bij een bepaalde locatie is:

--> I'm waiting for you at the airport./ I'm at school. 

ON:  als je het over de oppervlakte hebt / iets ergens bovenop is:

--> I'm sitting on the table.

IN:  als je het hebt over dat iemand of iets in een bepaalde locatie is:

--> I'm sleeping in your bed. /  I'm waiting in the hotel lobby.
