• Again... Wanneer gebruiken we de past simple?
• Wanneer iets in het verleden is afgelopen en dus helemaal klaar is.
• Examples: I ate a cake yesterday.
• We had lunch an hour ago.
• Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926.
• We hebben nu ook de past continuous.........

Wat betekent ''continuous'' eigenlijk?
Hint: Wat betekent ''to continue''?

Dus past continuous..

• = Onvoltooid verleden tijd
• Je gebruikt de past continuous voor een actie die in het verleden is gebeurd en een tijdsduur heeft. 
• Examples: I was doing my homework.
• I was teaching my favourite class.
• You were paying attention. 
• Wat valt op?

Past continuous

• PAST CONTINUOUS= was/were (not) + stam werkwoord + -ing 
• I was working. ----- I was not working./ I wasn't working.
• You were working. --- You were not working./ You weren't working. 
• He was working. ----------He was not working./  He wasn't working. 
• Hoe maak je vragen met de past continuous?
• Were you working on your homework? ---> Was she working on her homework?
• Gebruikt om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden een tijdje aan de gang was.
