The Five Pillars of Islam are the fundamental practices that shape the lives of Muslims and form the foundation of their faith.

This is the pilgrimage that Muslims worldwide do at least once in their lives. They travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia (if they are financially able to do so and if their health permits)
The Creed: Every Muslim says that there is only one God, Allah, and that Mohammed is his prophet.
Fasting during Ramadan
You have to pray 5x a day
Every Muslim must provide financial help to the poor and to the religious community.

  • Ablutions (Wudu, Ghusl) > ritual purifications before prayer

  • Modesty is important for both men and women

  • Family and Community: Family is highly valued in Islam, with a strong emphasis on caring for parents and relatives.

  • Equality and Justice:  treating everyone with respect and dignity.

  • Eid al-Fitr: The festival marking the end of Ramadan, characterized by prayers, festive meals, and charity.
  • Eid al-Adha: The Festival of Sacrifice, coinciding with the pilgrimage to Mecca, commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son.
