Common mistakes

- i without a capital. I is always written with a capital letter even when it's not at the beginning of a sentence.

Common mistakes

Prepositions as: in, on, at. 

We gebruiken at als je het hebt over dat iemand of iets bij een bepaalde locatie is:

--> I'm waiting for you at the airport.

We gebruiken on als je het over de oppervlakte hebt / iets ergens bovenop is:

--> I'm sitting on the table.

We gebruiken in als je het hebt over dat iemand of iets in een bepaalde locatie is:

--> I'm sleeping in your bed.

Common mistakes

Quick spelling mistakes as: 

thru = through. 

gonna = going to 

wanna = want to 

u = you 

Everything should be written out and not in short. 

Common mistakes 

The use of irregular verbs. It's not eated but it's ate. 

eat - ate - eaten (remember ? ) 

The use of '.  It's when the word is = it is.. Don't when the word is do not, etc. 

Much & many. 

Much: niet telbare woorden. 

Many: wel telbare woorden.

Word order

de woordvolgorde in het Engels gaat als volgt: 

wie      doet     wat     waar       wanneer 

Max    wears  a t-shirt to bed every night. 

I           drink   a cup of tea at school everyday 

Grammar E: meervoud

Plurals = meervoud. 

In het Engels zet je een woord meestal in het meervoud door een ‘s’ aan het woord toe te voegen. 

room – rooms  

grape – grapes  

glass – glasses

Plurals

Sommige woorden hebben een andere spelling in het meervoud.  

Eindigt een woord op een medeklinker + y, dan verandert de -y in -ies. 

one baby – two babies  

one party – two parties

Eindigt een woord op een medeklinker + o, dan wordt -es toegevoegd.  

one tomato – two tomatoes  

one potato – two potatoes

Plurals

Woorden die eindigen op - fe krijgen in het meervoud - ves. 

one knife - two knives
