What is Summarizing?

• Using fewer words to give the most important parts of a   story.
• When summarizing, think of the beginning, middle, and end.
• Be sure to tell the most important things that happened in   each part.

How Can I Summarize Effectively?

Somebody - Wanted - But - So - Then method takes the guess work out of what to include in a summary.
