Chapter 14

Another visitor came by the house in a British Army uniform, with an assistant. They inspected the house and inventory with a list. The kids told them all about the rooms and other buildings, but did not mention the lambing barn.

The soldier said the house would be perfect.

The kids were worried about what was going to happen.

Chapter 15

Osbert got a job with the army. Many soldiers came to the house to use it as a base. Piper and Daisy wanted to make lunch for them, but they refused and said they'd brought mess with them.

Piper and Daisy were told to pack up and they were going to be rehoused. They took Jet with them. They drove a long time before they arrived at a house.

Chapter 15

They were welcomed by Mrs. McEvoy who lived with her army husband. She said to call her Jane. There was also a four-year-old boy names Albert (Alby).

The girls planned to get settled and to try and come up with a plan to to get back together with Isaac and Edmond.

Who did Daisy go away with?
