Present Simple

Dit is de tegenwoordige tijd. Je gebruikt deze vorm om gewoontes, feiten, herhaalde handelingen, onveranderlijke situaties, emoties of wensen uit te drukken.

Hoe maak je de present simple?

Je neemt het hele werkwoord bijv ‘to run’, maar dan gebruik je het zonder ‘to’.

       Ik ren naar huis -   I run home

      Jij rent naar huis -   You run home

      Hij/Zij/Het rent naar huis -  He/She/It runs home

Present Continuous

Deze vorm gebruik je om aan te geven dat iets NU aan de gang is.

Je gebruikt hem om aan te geven dat je iets van plan bent. Meestal staat er dan ook bij wanneer je dat van plan bent te gaan doen. 

Je kan het ook gebruiken om aan te geven dat iets je irriteert (vaak wordt het woordje always dan gebruikt om dat aan te geven).

Hoe maak je de present continuous?

Je hebt altijd 2 werkwoorden nodig. 

Namelijk een vervoeging van ‘to be’ + de stam van het werkwoord + ing. 

I                             am   werkwoord   +ing

You/we/they    are   werkwoord   +ing

He/She/It           is     werkwoord   +ing

I am playing / You are walking / He is studying / She is eating / It is hurting / We are swimming / You are driving / They are travelling.

present continuous: (right) now / at the moment / Listen! / Look!
