The assignment

A group of British teachers is going to visit your college for two days. The aim of their trip is to learn about how technology is used in education in your country.

You have been asked to write a report for the group leader. Your report should:

 include information about how technology is used to teach different subjects

recommend which lessons the teachers should watch to see technology being used

Introduction

This report is intended to inform how technology is used in common lessons and recommend the most interesting technical developments to be seen. I conducted a survey among teachers and students in order to find out what is prefered to be used by them.

Recommendations

For most of the people who I asked for their reply were really important computers and interactive boards in the classrooms. I would therefore recommend seeing this. On the other hand, if you are interested in a specific subject, you should attend those classes.

The assignment

Recently there have been some complaints from students about your college cafe. Your College Principal has asked you to write a report about the cafe and make recommendations on how to improve:

the food and drink evadable

the furniture and decoration

the entertainment facilities

All content is relevant. No explicit recommendation for furniture and decor. Reader is not fully informed.

Communicative Achievement: 3

Informal language used throughout. Straightforward ideas are conveyed. 

Organisation: 3

The report is organized appropriately. Linking of some short sentences would have improved this, but this was not always done successfully. 

Language: 2 

A lot of spelling errors. Mostly simple grammatical structures.

The assignment

A friend is intending to stay in your town. She will be the group leader of ten teenagers from her swimming club.

She would like you to write a report for her club about the swimming facilities in your area, both outdoor and indoor, with your recommendations.

Word er gebruik gemaakt van verschillende linking words? Word de informatie op een georganiseerde manier verwoord?

Language: 

Zijn er weinig taalfouten, zoals spelling, woordgebruik, zinsopbouw, etc. 

Formeel

You'll see a couple of examples of informal language use.

Turn these sentences into something more formal with the same meaning as the original. 

You're in the beautiful city Rotterdam and you don't know what to do?

But the time we were there we all thought that the music could be way better.

There weren't really well-known artists but we had to deal with it.

Cohesive devices & Linking Words

It's a big market where you can buy all sorts of foods and drinks. Or you look at the walls, you'll see windows. That's because you can also live here.
